 In vragende en ontkennende zinnen als het zelfstandig naamwoord telbaar is:

–> How many brothers or sisters have you got?

 a lot of:

 In bevestigende zinnen (of het zelfstandig naamwoord telbaar of ontelbaar is, maakt niet uit):

(a) few = een paar,                    (a) little = een beetje:
