Task:
- Read the notes/feedback on your essay
- Take notes of what you want to ask a question about
- One by one I’ll discuss it with you

Score:
235/words x error score = Y
Y / 10 = Z
10 – Z = grade/mark


Error Score:
G: 3 x  grammar
I: 2 x  idiom: missing word, incorrect word, unnecessary word, etc.
C: 2 x Content: no thesis statement, use of personal pronouns, linking words mistakes, unclear arguments, etc.
S: 1 x Spelling and punctuation 
H: 0 Repeat mistakes

Oral Exam Folder
  • Find 3 socially relevant articles that can be linked to the theme(s) of the book
  • Articles must be in English
  • Each article has to be at least 1 A4 page (font size 12 times new roman)
  • Write a short summary for each article in English (minimum of 150 words)
  • Print the articles + summaries and hand it in = 30 November

What is a theme? 
The theme in a story is its underlying message, or 'big idea.' 
In other words, what critical belief about life is the author trying to convey in the writing of a novel, play, short story or poem? 
This belief, or idea, transcends cultural barriers. 
It is usually universal in nature.
