Frequency
The frequency is the number of times a value appears.

Look at our previous pie chart. 90 students and their favourite fruit.
This is the frequency table that goes with the information given.

Bar chart
Another diagram you can make is a bar chart. Each value gets its own bar. The height or lenght of the bar indicates the corresponding frequency.

A frequency polygon is used to show how frequency changes over time. The horizontal axis shows the time, the vertical axis shows the frequency.
