Some/any: the basic rule

'Some': in positive sentences (bevestigende zinnen)

'Any': in negative sentences and questions -

'Some' in questions

'Some': als je ergens om vraagt en je ja als antwoord verwacht.

'Waiter, could I have some water, please?'

Je broertje gaat naar de groentewinkel en jij vraagt:
'Could you bring back some bananas, please?'

Aanbieden

Ook als je iemand iets aanbiedt gebruik je some.

Bijvoorbeeld:
Would you like some tea?

Would you like ____ water?
