Exposition: key information introduced to the reader. 
Rising action: All the events leading up to climax. (Buildup)
Climax: The highest point of tension/drama in a plot. Often, main problem is being solved.

Falling action: The periode after the dramatic confrontation of the climax.
Denouement: The final part of the play, film, narrative in which the strands of the plot are drawn together and matters are explained / resolved.
