The rules by which we'll play this

•  Breakout rooms
• Put yourself in a category
• You will be put in a room with people from the same category (2-3 students per breakout room)
• Discuss your questions in the breakout room
• If undecided: invite the teacher to your breakout room and/or when you come back (be prepared to share your document)

I am hoping for everyone to have made at least some sort of a start, so that the ones who have to opt for C feel like they're not in the bottom layer. It's nearly Christmas: keep their spirits up!

Intonation

Dutch: flat  - English: modulated

Esp. in questions: flat intonation may come across as rude or angry (defensive, remember?)

We'll practise a few: record yourself, and listen after class if you've done a good job

• Would you please let me finish?
• If I may come in here, can I say something about this?
• Wouldn’t it be a better idea to ask the bank?

The rules by which we'll play this

• Two project groups to a breakout room
• Prepared/unprepared groups can be mixed
• One student is time-keeper: the one who starts the pitch
• Start with one pitch
• Then the other group asks questions
• Everybody should ask a question
• Everybody should be asked a question
• Halfway your time: the other group pitches, etc.

Be aware that the teacher will appear in and disappear from your breakout rooms!
