Understanding Fractions
Fractions represent a part of a whole. The top number is called the numerator, and the bottom number is called the denominator.

Like Denominators
When adding fractions with like denominators, simply add the numerators and keep the denominator the same.

Different Denominators
To add fractions with different denominators, we need to find a common denominator. This is the least common multiple (LCM) of the denominators.
