What is a Summative C (oral)? 

• It is an oral assessment in which you will talk and will have a conversation one to one with your teacher about a topic related to the current unit.
• You will get an image and a legend (phrase) as a prompt (inspiration) and will talk about it for 2-3 minutes

FAQ´s

• What do I do if I can not speak for 2-3minutes? 

During the first part of the assessment the teacher will ask you for your personal information: name, age, nationality, etc. That way you will speak for a longer time. 

Then, your teacher will give you time to talk about the prompt (image and legend) and only after you have said all you can, he will ask you more questions to help you reach 2-3 minutes.

• Do I have to describe the image?

You may, but you do not have to. The legend (phrase) is more important, if the legend says "¿Cuál es tu película favorita?", you HAVE TO say something about this prompt. Like: "Mi  película favorita en Los Minions, es una comedia. Me gusta porque es divertida y emocionante..."

After that you can refer to anything else: 

"No me gustan las películas de acción, son tontas y aburridas..."

How do I get evaluated?

Evaluation based on:

• Vocabulary related to the topics: family / activities / types of movies.

• Grammar structures: ir a + infinitive (near future) / verbos: gustar - encantar – interesar.

• Organization of the information: coherent & with enough details. Use of connectors: además/también/pero/ en mi opinión, etc.,

• Communication of the required information: relevant & with examples to support their points.

• Interactive communication: response to questions & engagement in the conversation.

• Look at the image and read the caption, then talk freely about the topic. The image is a prompt, you do not need to describe it
• Have a conversation with your classmate about the topic related to the picture and the unit studied.
•  Duration: 2-3 minutes of speaking time, not more than 5 minutes in total.
