The supercontinent fell apart a very long time ago.

About 225 million years ago.

Plate tectonics

The earth exists of three layers:

• Earth core (Aardkern)
  
• Earth mantle (Aardmantel)
  
• Earth crust (Aardkorst)
  

The pieces of earth crust are also called plates.

The moving of the plates = plate tectonics.
