 I can use prefixes and suffixes in a sentence.

Ik kan voor- en achtervoegsels in een zin gebruiken.

Lees de blogpost. Kijk naar de gekleurde woorden. Schrijf de twee woorden die dezelfde kleur hebben naast elkaar en onderstreep het verschil tussen de woorden.

Prefixes (voorvoegsels) 

Non- / un- / im- / il- / in- / ir- / dis- betekent ‘niet’ of ‘het tegenovergestelde’.

sense, used, possible, legal, compatible, responsible, appear

nonsense, unused, impossible, illegal, incompatible, irresponsible, disappear

Re- betekent ‘opnieuw’, ‘terug ’ of ‘als reactie op’ .

turn, visit, play, act

return, revisit, replay, react

Mis- betekent ‘verkeerd’ of ‘niet’ .

use, behave

misuse, misbehave

Suffixes = achtervoegsels

-er betekent ‘degene die de actie doet’.

teach, eat, rap

teacher, eater, rapper

-ing / -ment verandert het werkwoord in een zelfstandig naamwoord.

I’ll pay you back tomorrow.

The payment went through.

My mum paints for a living.

The painting was sold for a million pounds.

-ness verandert een bijwoord / bijvoeglijk naamwoord in een zelfstandig naamwoord.

The girl on TV is very kind.

I admire your kindness.
