For words that have one syllable. (1)
  • weak -> weaker (than) -> (the) weakest
  • big - bigger (than) -> (the) biggest
  • busy -> busier (than) -> (the) busiest

For words that have two or more syllables. (2+) 
  • famous -> more famous (than) -> (the) most famous
  • difficult -> more difficult (than) -> (the) most difficult
