How to use short answers

• Short answers are used to  answer questions
• Not just yes or no
• You repeat part of the question
• For example:
• Did you understand the instructions?
• Yes, I did.
• No, I didn't.

Questions first, answers later

• How you respond depends on the type of question
• You can make questions in English with these verbs
•  to be - tt. am, are, is - vt. was, were
• to do - tt. do, does - vt. did
• can - tt. can - vt. could
