Let's read T2 together, first:

Suppose the formula did not have the
' +4500 ' part!     Question:

How would you calculate b) then?

Slide 3 - Diapositive

Answer:
1.   Take n = 20 and  n = 50  and
2. take the mean:
      (20 + 50) : 2 = 35
3.   fill this in, in the formula and
4.   now you now the maximum profit!

Slide 4 - Diapositive

Question 2:
What difference does it make, for calculating the maximum profit, having ' + 4500 ' in the formula, or not?

Slide 5 - Diapositive

Answer 2:
For the way to calculate the maximum profit,
it makes NO DIFFERENCE at all!
The graph with ' +4500 ' added is just 4500 higher than the other one. The n of the vertex stays the same!

Question 3: Think of a way to solve
question c:

Slide 7 - Diapositive

Answer part 1:
We need to know for which values of n is P(n) positive.
Some clues:
+ The formula corresponds to a downward opening parabola.
+ Find the p.o.i. with the P axis.
+ So between n=..  and n=..    there is a profit made!

Answer, part 2:
We just have a quick look at the Solution, to have an idea how to tackle this one!

Slide 9 - Diapositive

Difference:
Study squarers do T2c, but
Classroomers do not have to do this one.

Homework time.
+ Homework = T1,2,3 and 4 on p.262.
+ Good luck, and
+ do not forget to check with the Solutionsbook!
