- What job did you picture yourself having as a child?
- Is it still the same one you would like to have now?

- Do you already have a job and are you happy with it?

You have 5 minutes to discuss these questions in pairs.

To be going to

Je gebruikt de toekomende tijd met going to als je wilt aangeven dat iemand iets in de toekomst van plan is. Je gebruikt deze vorm ook als je een voorspelling doet over de toekomst, waarvoor je bewijs hebt. Bijvoorbeeld:

Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain.

(Kijk eens naar die donkere wolken! Het gaat zo regenen.)

Future: to be going to 

Gebruiken we om iets te voorspellen, als je een plan hebt voor de toekomst

am/are/is + going to + hele werkwoord

Bevestigend:

I = am                                                 I am going to clean my room.

you/ we/ they = are                     We are going clean our rooms.

he/ she/it = is                                 He is going to clean his room. 

1 naam= he/ she/ it                                                                2 namen= you/ we/ they

David is going to clean his room.                                    Sarah and John are going to clean their rooms

Future: to be going to

Ontkenning: 

are/am/is + not+ going to+ hele werkwoord

I am not going to clean my room

You are not going to clean your room

She is not going to clean her room

Vraagzinnen:

are/am/is+ onderwerp + going to be+ werkwoord

Onderwerp = De persoon die het doet (I, you, we ,they, he, she, it)

Am I going to clean my room?

Are we going to clean our rooms?

Is she going to clean her room?

Present/Future continuous

De 'present continuous' wordt gebruikt om te praten over afspraken voor gebeurtenissen die later dan nu zullen plaatsvinden. Er wordt gesuggereerd dat er meer dan een persoon op de hoogte is van de gebeurtenis, en dat er al enige voorbereidingen zijn getroffen, bijv.

am/are/is+ hele werkwoord+ -ing

I'm meeting Jim at the airport = Jim and I have discussed this.

I am leaving tomorrow. = I've already bought my train ticket.

We're having a staff meeting next Monday = all members of staff have been told about it.
