How does the verb change in the past tense? 

Past simple (regelmatig) 

- Je gebruikt het om over het verleden (the past) te praten. 

- De actie of gebeurtenis is gestopt. 

Om de past simple te maken voeg je -(e)d toe

I walk --> I walked

She likes --> She liked 

Past simple (onregelmatig) 

Maar let op! Bij onregelmatige werkwoorden verandert de vorm van het werkwoord. 

go --> went

think --> thougth 

take --> took
