Final assignment criteria
  • As a final assignment, you will create a photo story/photo comic about a stereotype or bias.
  • What must your assignment meet:
  • A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 pictures in which all the group members play a role.
  • The title must show what stereotype or prejudice it is about.
  • It must show what this does to the person suffering from it and it must be clear how it is resolved.
  • You will work in groups
  • ● The assignment will be graded

Slide 4 - Diapositive

Step 1: Brainstorm in pairs about possible topics and make a choice.
Step 2: Think of a title for your photo strip.
Step 3: Write out your story briefly.
Step 4: Make an outline of the screenplay;
Step 5: Get your teacher to approve the scenario before you continue!
Step 6: Take pictures;
Step 7: Print out the photos in color and make sure they are all the same size.
Step 8: Create a layout (neatly!) on an A3 sheet. Keep in mind space for a title.
Step 9: On the back of the sheet, write your first and last name and class.
Step 10: Trim the pictures if necessary and put them in place(don't grab them yet!).
Step 11: Check that there is still enough room for the speech bubbles. If there is not you can recreate the pictures. Stick the pictures neatly on the A3 sheet.
Step 12: Write (with colored pencil or marker) the texts in your self made speech bubble or make these on your computer.
Step 13: Paste the speech bubbles in the right place.
Step 14: Check your work and turn it in to your teacher

  • Don't take the photos with backlight!
  • Think before you take a picture. You will need space for your speech bubble.
