Future 1: Present Simple 
For events that are/were planned on which you have no influence (timetables, set schedules, ect.)

The ballet performance starts at 8:00 pm.
When does the meeting begin?
There is no need to hurry, the train doesn’t leave for another 30 minutes.

Future 2: Present Continuous
For future arrangements , with set date and time.

I am visiting my aunt tomorrow. 
 (Your aunt knows your coming, you've called her to let her know.)

She is painting her room next Thursday.
(She has taken the day of just so she can paint her room.)

My friend and I are having dinner at a restaurant tonight.
 (You're friend has made reservations at the restaurant.)

Future 3: will + infinitive
For indisputable facts

The sun will rise tomorrow.       
Fact, the sun rises every morning. 

All lessons will be canceled because it's a holiday.
 Fact, you do not have to go to school during a holiday.

For a first conditional sentence. When a certain condition is met, something else will happen. 


If you clean your room, I will bake a cake.
If you don’t do your homework, you will fail the test.

For predictions based on opinion or experience. Often with verbs/words like: think, probably of possibly  in de zin:


I will probably be very nervous before my final exams.
(You're always nervous for a test, so you'll probably be nervous again.)

I think that will be the best party ever!
(You hope it will, but you can't be certain.)

For spontaneous decisions, to offer something, for promises or to refuse to do something in the future. 

The doorbell is ringing. I’ll answer it!  -> spontaneous decision
Oh, you look cold. I’ll make you a cup of tea. -> offer
I promise I won't tell anyone! -> promise
They will never agree with that! -> refusal

Something that is almost certain to happen (based on present evidence).


 It is going to rain soon!
(You can see the dark clouds coming in.)

Look out! She is going to drop that cup of tea!
(You can see her hands shake.)

You've asked her, but you haven't set a date yet. 

We are going to buy a new car soon.
