What is a fairy tale and What is folklore?

Write them down.

Irish Folklore creatures

Irish folklore has many creatures, here are a couple creatures from Irish folklore.

• Dullahan
• (Headless Horseman)

• The Pooka

• Leprechaun

• Fairy

Characters

Fairy tales always have a main character.

There are many words and ways you can use to describe a character.

Characters

• Characteristics: What qualities do you character have? Are they kind, smart, brave?
• Who or what are they?: are they human, an alien, a dragon, a fairy?
• What do they look like?: do they have wings, long hair, 4 arms?

Write down words to describe a character.

Your own main character

You are going to create your own main character for your own fairy tale.

Go to Peppels and read the exercise.

Example

Benhardt the Knight

A knight.

Wields a legendary sword and wears a suit of armour.

A brave knight who is kind to others.

Has to fight a mighty dragon to save his kingdom.
