The School is relocating to a building in Greenford, occupying three floors. In the future the School leaders (the Governors and the School head) may decide to intend to hire out a some of their rooms.

Phase 1 Mirgration

• Phase migration of systems for Year 7 and 8 in September

• 21 members of staff –

- Teaching staff /non-Teaching Staff

- 250 Students

- Phase* 19 Rooms

- 1 Learning Resource Centre

- 10 offices for IT Support, teaching staff, non-teaching staff (Administration staff, caretaker, reception, security, school nurse)

Phase 1 Continues 

The school has not yet purchased any IT equipment. All staff will need access to dedicated computers, Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs) as well as MFCs (Multi-Function Centres, these are printer/scanner/fax machines that all users will access using ID cards).

There will be a security system for card access to the building, the photocopiers and CCTV.

The LRC will need 75 work stations and 2 staff work stations.

In the future the school wants to improve its systems to allow:

Requirements 

 technology that will allow teaching staff and students to work and collaborate remotely

 mobile print management software for staff/students to send printing to school printers from their remote locations, to access and print when onsite.

 a Tracker system (e.g., Find Device software) for all school devices loaned to students/staff to use offsite

 the school to hire classrooms at weekends to other users who will be able to log onto systems to access printing (chargeable by invoice) and the IWBs.

Task

Think about the current and future requirements of the school to include the Business, the Hardware requirements, General and Custom requirements, the Networking software and Data requirements, the Premises and Infrastructure, the different types of staff members, plus any Legal requirements and recommend:

- Efficient IT system to store and manage the school’s information and data requirements
