1 Check Final details 
  • Have you handed in the Photo Consent Form?

  • Have you checked your  date of birth on your Confirmation of Entry and your timetable of the exam parts

  • Please double-check the exam timetable carefully. 

  • If you miss your Speaking exam, you will not be allowed to sit the Written exams (and vice versa)
  • Rescheduling the exam will not be possible.

2 Results information
  • Your results will be available by 26 June 2023 at 09:00 (UK time). 
  • To receive notification of faster results register now at https://candidates.cambridgeenglish.org 
  • Enter your personal ID Number:XXXXXXX and Secret Number:XXXX  
  • You find these numbers on the Confirmation of Entry that you have received
  • For verification purposes, you can pass these details onto organisations that use or accept Cambridge English exams.
  • We will email you as soon as your results are released

3 What to bring to the exam
On the day of the exam, you will need to bring:

  •  Your Confirmation of Entry
  • A valid ID (a copy/photo of the ID is not accepted)
  •  A drink is allowed during the exam if it is in a transparent plastic water bottle with no label.  
  • Food in the exam room is not permitted. Food can be brought to eat during the breaks.
  • All electronic devices/phones will/must be collected by our staff at the beginning of the exam day and will be stored in a secure location until after the final exam.
  • You cannot bring your bag into the exam room. Your center will tell you what to do with your belongings.

4 On the exam day 

  • You are expected to arrive at the exam location at least half an our before the start 
  • So you have to be there at 8:00 A.M. if your first exam starts at 8:40 A.M.
  • Address: IP CAMPUS, Diemermere 11-19, 1112 TB Diemen Netherlands.
  • Please consult the advised train schedule in Teams
  • Make sure you're ON TIME  / Rescheduling is NOT an option

  • Your photo will be taken on the exam day 
  • Have your ID card ready for checking
  • Present your Confirmation of Entry and your Photo Consent Form

5 During the exam

  • Listen carefully to the instructions that the examiners give you, be polite and show respect
  • Do not speak to other people inside the exam room
  • If you have any problems, raise your hand until the examiner comes to help you
  • During the computer-based exam check the time on your screen
  • Finished? Stay in your seat until the examiner tells you to leave the room

Writing
- CAE Writing is 90 minutes long and it consists of two separate tasks

- Each part needs to be  220-260 words long.
- You can cross out and add writing. 
- You have to write an essay for part 1.
- Make sure you "count" the different aspects that are mandatory and give them a seperate paragraph. 
- Usually 4 paragraphs, but could be 3 or 5 depending on the task
- For  part 2 you get three different assignments to choose from. There are four possible types of assignments: a proposal, a review, a report and a letter.

CAE Writing Assessment Criteria
Content. How well you is your writing at achieving the task. Have you developed all the points required by the task?
Communicative Achievement. How appropriate is your writing in terms of style. Have you used the right register (formal or informal)? Does your writing fill the style requirements of your text type (report, review, essay, letter)? Do you understand the purpose of the text you’re writing?
Organisation. How logically you structure your text (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion). How well you connect your ideas in the text (cohesion).
Language. Your grammar and vocabulary. How diverse is your choice of grammar structure? Is the vocabulary you use fairly varied? Do you make any mistakes in both and how much do they affect understanding the idea you convey?
