Setting of a story

The setting of a story is the place and time a story takes place 

What do you know about Theme?

Theme in literature

Theme is the main idea in a story. It can be the moral of the story but is does not have to be. 

Theme is always expressed by a complete sentence, idea or thought. 

What could be the theme in Man with the Twisted Lip

1. Mystery
2. Thriller
3. Appearances can be deceiving
4. Deception and Fraud

Important about theme

- Theme is OFTEN  expressed in a sentence, idea or thought. If you write down a single word, it is usually not a theme. 

- A story can have more than one theme. It can also have no theme. 

- If you come up with an answer, you have to provide context and explanation for you answer with information from the story
