Theme in literature
Theme is the main idea in a story. It can be the moral of the story but is does not have to be. 

Theme is always expressed by a complete sentence, idea or thought.

Important about theme
- Theme is OFTEN  expressed in a sentence, idea or thought. If you write down a single word, it is usually not a theme. 
- A story can have more than one theme. It can also have no theme. 
- If you come up with an answer, you have to provide context and explanation for you answer with information from the story
