HOMEWORK CHECK
Write a 50-word text on what makes a school sustainable,

covering energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, renewable energy, and green spaces. Include what Johan de Witt School already does and suggest improvements like better recycling or solar panels. Pay attention to grammar and punctuation. No ChatGPT! Bring your work to class.

Nariman's suggestion
For a school to be sustainable it needs to have recycling bins, and it needs to use less energy with all the boards and the lights. I need to have at least one lesson about nature and how to take care of it, but also a garden or little park (break area) for the students to sit in and contact nature.

In Johan de Witt School they offer recycling bins and a bit of artificial greens in the auditorium.
My suggestion to my school (JDWSG) is they need to include a big green space (garden) in the school for breaks, but also for some lessons that the students can take outside. They can also add an after-school program for people that would like to volunteer in planting something at the school or maybe volunteer in cleaning up the school.

Related concept of MYP: conventions
Conventions are the characteristics of a literary or non-literary genre. These features may, of course, vary between languages. Each genre has recognisable techniques, referred to as literary or linguistic conventions. They are used along with other features, in order to chieve particular artistic ends.

  • What music is used? What does that make you feel?
  • How does the camera move? Why do you think it moves like that?
  • Is there any text? Spoken or written? How is the text linked to the video?
