1. Who is Natasha and how does it remind Starr of what happened to Khalil?

Natasha was her best friend, who was shot during a drive-by shooting when they were very young. Starr was there and saw the whole thing. Khalil is now shot as well, with her as an eye witness.
2. What is Starr’s relationship with Uncle Carlos? Why is this important?

She has two personalities, as it were. There's the Garden Heights Starr, who is completely herself with all the characteristics that are common in that part of the city and there's the Williamson Starr who speaks differently and acts differently, more similar to her friends and classmates there.

5. What is important about the way the news media is reporting on Khalil’s death? Why is this significant?
