Wanneer gebruik je de 'Present Continuous'?

• Je gebruikt de present continuous als iets aan de gang is op het moment dat je erover spreekt of schrijft. Iets gebeurt dus op dit moment. Nu!

• En om irritatie uit te spreken.

Hoe ziet de vorm eruit?

am / are / is + werkwoord + ing

I am explaining grammar.

You are all listening to me.

She is doing something else.

Let op!

Als het werkwoord eindigt op een -e, dan laat je deze weg als je -ing toevoegt.

to dance - I'm dancing

to smile - He is smiling

Let op!

Als het werkwoord één lettergreep heeft en eindigt op een klinker + medeklinker verdubbel je de laatste medeklinker.

to stop     - He is stopping him.

to run       - They are running.
