History of Black Friday

• A day after Thanksgiving (USA).
• Workers weren’t showing up at factories.
• A police officer named it Black Friday because of the traffic jams caused by shoppers.
• Retailers would say their sales after Thanksgiving would go from red (deficit) to black (profit).
• Now you have singles’ week, pre-Black Friday, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
