1. Werkwoorden die eindigen op -e, krijgen alleen -d erachter:
     to bake: We baked a delicious cake yesterday.

2. Werkwoorden die eindigen op -y, met een medeklinker ervoor, krijgen -ied:
     to marry: She married him when she was 18 years old.

3. Werkwoorden die kort zijn, één klinker in zich hebben en waarbij maar één klemtoon mogelijk       is, schrijf je met een extra laatste medeklinker voor -ed:
     to swap: They swapped their Ipods to listen to each others music.
