ZERO CONDITIONAL

• used for general truths / (scientific) facts
• EXAMPLE: If you press this button, the TV turns on
• 2x present simple!

Form the zero conditional:

First conditional

• Used for realistic situations / likely to happen
• EXAMPLE: If it rains today, I will stay at home.
  
•                     If: present tense  Result: will + verb

• Use: imaginary/hypothetical/impossible situations - not likely to happen now or in the future

• Use: to express an hypothetical result of a past event  / situations that cannot be changed
• EXAMPLE: If she had studied, she would have passed the exam (but we know she didn't and so she didn't pass)

                 If: past perfect    Result: would have + past participle      

If he ... (eat) his breakfast, he wouldn't have felt hungry.
