A: Hello!

B: Hi. Where were you yesterday?

A: I was in Barcelona!

B: Nice! Why were you in Barcelona? What were you doing?

A: I was there for the football match. I was cheering on my favorite team.

B: When was it?  Who was playing?

A: It was yesterday evening! Barcelona and Real Madrid were playing.

B: How was the match? How did you like it?

A: The match was amazing. I liked it a lot.

Wh/H-questions (1)

• We use the wh/h-question words to ask questions.
• They appear at the start of sentences.
• They are often followed by either is, are or do (in the present simple tense), based on the person or object in the sentence. 

• Look at the sentences on the next slide for examples.
