Unidad 3: Viajes y Ecología

El viaje in a nutshell

• Organised by AICS and AulaToledo School: https://aulatoledo.com/en/
• Accommodation with host families (teachers in a hotel near the school).
• Half-day Spanish classes. 3 groups organised per language level.
• Lunch: students buy their own lunch.
• Half-day activities.
• Free time (after the afternoon activities).
• Dinner at the host family's home at 21h. 
• After dinner, you will spend time with the host family.

We will meet at 8:45 in the meeting point at Schiphol Airport.

Formative task

Mi diario de viaje(obligatorio)

All the students will complete: -Mi diario de viaje- 

• You will receive a hard copy on Thursday 24th of April and you can also find it on Google Classroom. 
• You have to bring it to Toledo so that you can complete it during the trip.

CONTENT: 

1. Begin your journal by writing the date and purpose of the Toledo trip.
2. Describe the journey how you traveled and your first impressions of the city.
3. Write about key places visited, what you saw, and how you felt.
4. Reflect on what you learned about Toledo’s culture, history, or architecture.
5. Add drawings, tickets, or photos to personalize and complete your journal.                                                     Es obligatorio como tarea formativa

Durante el viaje vamos a completar el diario de viaje. El diario debes llevarlo a Toledo y al final del día debes completarlo.

During the trip we are going to complete a travel journal. You have to bring the journal to Toledo and at the end of the day you have to  it.

hand in your travel journal to your teacher.

Task during the trip 

Concurso de fotografía (obligatorio)

Each student must upload to Google Classroom a photograph that represents the trip to Toledo.

Guidelines: 

• Each student uploads only one photo
• You must appear in the photo (it can be from behind, just your hand, hair, etc.)
• Each photo must have a title and the name of the author. 
• Each student must upload the photo to Google Classroom before May 16th

                             Attention! There are prizes for the winners (3 prizes)

Concurso de vídeo (opcional)

You must upload to Google Classroom a video of up to 2 minutes about the 2025 trip to Toledo.

Guidelines:

• Each student may upload only one video
• In the video, you can appear, as well as your classmates, host family, academy teachers, your AICS teachers, and of course: Toledo!
• Each video must have a title
• Deadline to upload the video to Google Classroom is May16th

Concurso de fotografía (obligatorio)

Cada estudiante tiene que subir a Google Classroom una fotografía que represente el viaje a Toledo.

Instrucciones:

-Cada estudiante sube una foto

-En la foto debes aparecer (puede ser de espaldas, solo la mano, el pelo..)

-Cada foto debe tener un título

-Cada estudiante tiene que subir la foto antes del  de mayo a Google Classroom. 

                           ¡Atención! Hay premios para los ganadores (3 premios)

Concurso de vídeo (opcional)

Cada estudiante debe subir a Google Classroom un vídeo de un máximo de 2 minutos  sobre el viaje a Toledo 2025

Instrucciones:

1. Cada estudiante puede subir solo un vídeo
2. En el vídeo puedes aparecer tú, tus compañeros, la familia de acogida, los profesores de la academia, tus profesores de AICS y ¡Toledo!
3. Cada vídeo debe tener un título
4. Cada estudiante tiene que subir el vídeo antes del 17 de mayo a Google Classroom. 
5. ¡Sé creativo!

Communication during the trip

We will share a WhatsApp group with all the students and teachers from AICS
RULES:

• Stay Respectful at All Times
• Keep It Trip-Related: Use the group only for important trip information, questions, and updates — no off-topic chats or memes.
• Don’t Spam the Group
• Follow Adult Instructions. If teachers or trip leaders post instructions, follow them carefully. They are there to help everyone stay safe and organised.
• Privacy Matters. Do not share anyone’s phone number, photos, or messages outside the group without permission.

What to take

• You can only take hand luggage

•           Do not forget your passport and/or your ID

• Check the temperature in Toledo before packing your suitcase

• On May 6th, we need to be at Schiphol Airport at 8:45 a.m.
