6.5 Grammar

You can create questions and negatives in the Past Simple.

Talk about these questions:

1: What is the Past Simple?

2: Which word is important for any negative sentence?

6.5 Past simple

YES/NO Questions in the past: did + subject + verb

Did you work very hard last week?

Did your parents give you money for the school trip?

Did Ms Dangerfield sing in a choir when she was little?

Did Sam go home early?

Create 1 YES/NO Question & give an answer too.

6.5 Past simple

WH-questions in the past: WH + did + subject + verb

Where did you live last year?

Why did you move to the United States five years ago?

What did you do yesterday?

• Remember we don't like double past!: Where did you lived...What did you did... xxx

Try to make a question using the past simple: when + beginnen.

6.5 Past Simple

Negatives in the past simple: did + not + infinitive (hele ww)

I did not play soccer last year. 

Mikayla didn't hug her girlfriend yesterday. 

My parents didn't name me after that actress.

6.5: Press conference 

Ms Dangerfield is the new minister of education & did something terrible. 

You have to prepare to be the journalists. 

Prepare at least one question to ask the 'minister'. 

Use the PAST SIMPLE.

Goal of the game: the class has to figure out what the person did. 

The person who guessed what I did, can be the minister next.
