Turning a fact into an opinion
Fact: Something that can be proven (e.g., "The character runs away from home.")

Opinion: A belief based on interpretation (e.g., "I believe the character is impulsive because they ran away from home")

Transition Tip: Use "because" to explain your reasoning.

Step by step
  1. Start with a fact: The character lies to their best friend about where they were last night.

  2. Think about how it impacts the story or others: Because of this lie, the best friend no longer trusts them.

  3. Give your opinion with reasoning: I believe the character  is careless because they show no remorse for their lie.
