1) (main)-character
  • Main Character: hoofdpersoon
  • Character: personage in het boek.

2) Protagonist
Protagonist: the main character in a story, and the person that the story is usually written about. The writer usually develops the plot around the protagonist, for instance with some problem that needs solving.

Antagonist: this is a person that opposes or fights against another character (usually the protagonist).

4) Setting
  • The setting in literature refers to the time, place, and environment in which a story occurs. Through its use, authors can establish mood, develop their characters, and enhance the conflict.

5) Genre
A literary genre is a category of literature. Genres may be determined by literary technique, tone, content, or length (especially for fiction).

- A literary theme is the main idea or underlying meaning a writer explores in a novel, short story, or other literary work.
