Question Tags

Grammar is easy, isn't it?

• Hierboven zie je een voorbeeld van een question tag. 
• Een question tag is de korte vraag aan het einde van de zin waarmee je om bevestiging vraagt.
• In het Nederlands zeggen we dan, toch?, hè?, of niet?, of wel? 
• In het Engels heb je daar een regel voor.

1.  hoofdzin bevestigend = tag ontkennend 

    hoofdzin ontkennend = tag bevestigend 

She is beautiful, isn't she?

My brother isn't that smart, is he?

2. Als er een hulpwerkwoord (am are is, have got, can) in de hoofdzin staat, gebruik je die ook in je tag! 

He is a good football player, isn't he?

We haven't got any milk, have we? 

She can play football realy well, can't she?

3. Als er een GEEN hulpwerkwoord (am are is, have got, can) in de hoofdzin staat, wat doe je dan?  Dan gebruik je een vorm van TO DO

He plays football, doesn't he?
