SOME and ANY both mean:

  • enkele
  • wat 
  • een paar
  • geen (in combinatie met NOT)
                                                                           Ik koop elke dag wat snoep in de kantine.
                                                                     Every day I buy some sweets in the canteen.
                                                           Mijn broer mag geen noten eten, hij is allergisch.
                                                                        My brother can't eat any nuts, he's allergic.

SOME / ANY
Some en any have the same meaning, 
but are used in different types of sentences. 

Some is used in affirmative (=bevestigende).

Any is used in questions and negating sentences (sentences with 'not').
