Why do the British have separate taps for hot and cold water?

1. In the old days there were two tanks. One for hot and one for cold water. The technology to mix water wasn't invented yet.
2. There used to be a lot of bacteria in hot water, that's why there were seperate taps to avoid contamination.
3. In the old days you could choose whether you wanted hot or cold water or both. Some people didn't want to use hot water.

Grammar: Quantifiers

Much vs. Many - Some vs. Any

Much vs. Many = veel

"Much" = uncountable nouns
much money, much water, much time

"Many" = plural countable nouns
many dollars, many bottles of water, many minutes

Some vs. Any = sommige / enkele

"Some" = affirmative sentences, questions when you expect the answer to be "yes", and for requests & offers

"Any" = negative sentence  and all other questions.
