Pitfalls are some words in English that look like and are often confused.

Words often used incorrectly when writing or speaking. 

For example, homophones which are words that sound the same. 

possessive vs. contractions

The possessive is used to indicate that something belongs to a person or thing. 

Contractions are a pronoun and a verb contracted to word.
