Future Tenses

Since you should know about this subject, let's throw you in right at the deep end. We'll first test how much you still know about future tenses, then you will get the explanation.

The Rules

Will + hele werkwoord

Voorspellingen zonder bewijs,  beloftes/verzoeken/aanbod doen (spontaan)

Be going to + hele werkwoord

Voorspellingen met bewijs, toekomstige plannen, van plan zijn om  ...  te gaan doen

Present Continuous (am/is/are + hele werkwoord + ing)

Toekomstige afspraken (er is al iets geregeld, staat vast)

Present Simple (hele werkwoord + s / es)

Voor tijdschema's  (betreft zaken die altijd op vaste momenten gebeuren, roosters)

Future tenses

Present Simple	er is sprake van een vast schema The bus leaves in 5 minutes.	he/she/it + ww + s
Present Continuous	in de nabije toekomst, tijd & plaats staat vast We are leaving for London in 5 minutes.	am/is/are + ww+-ing
To be going to +ww	plannen voor in de toekomst voorspellingen met bewijs I am going to buy a new car this year.	am/is/are + going to + ww
Will/shall (won't) +ww	beloftes / iets aanbieden/ voorspellingen zonder bewijs I will not tell anyone	Shall/will (not) + ww
