• Today we're going to practice our listening skills
• In this lesson, you will learn to voice your opinion about certain topics in English 
• Learn the origin of New Year's resolutions and what a resolution is. 
• Practice our reading skills for next week

What is a new year resolution? 

Fun fact: 

A New Year's resolution is a promise a person makes for the new year. Regardless of what resolution you commit to, the goal is to improve life in the coming year. 

The tradition of New Year's resolutions dates all the way back to 153 B.C.

The Roman soldiers would honor and worship Janus, a mythical god of the early Roman era.

Janus had two faces — one looking forward, one looking backward. This allowed him to look back on the past and forward toward the future.
