What do you always have to do?
Only speak English!

Take notes!
  • Always take a notebook with you to class. 
  • Write down the grammar rules in your notebook.
  • Write other important stuff in your notebook.
No notebook (or an empty one) means that you've forgotten your work.

Vocabulary list
Create a vocabulary list at the end of your notebook. This broadens your vocabulary and helps you remember more. 
Always do your homework + don't forget to bring your homework, books, pen and notebook with you.

- Pay
- What education do you need?
- How long?
- What can you do with that job?
- Responsibilities

Exercise 2 - Vocabulary
  • Go to page 24 of your student's book.
  • Look at 2 vocabulary.
  • Read the job adverts. Use the words in red to complete the vocabulary tables.

Exercise 5: If you could choose any job in the world, what would it be? (SB 24)

In groups of four, discuss this.
Talk about:
- Why you want to do that.
- The hours of work;
- The pay
- The responsibilities
- The commute 

Make sure you know what the other is talking about because you'll paraphrase it for someone else.

Complete the sentences with the words in the box.

Use:

in charge of  - menial - on your own - salary - shift work - skilled - supervise - well-paid.

We can use the following suffixes for people who do particular jobs or activities:

Work (verb)
1. work = function
This iPhone doesn't work any more.

2. Work out = calculate, find the answer
I can't work out what she was saying.

3. Work out = train at the gym
He likes to work out every evening.

4. Work on = improve
I need to work on my English.


Work (noun)
1. Be out of work = be unemployed
My dad is out of work.
2. Be off work = not be at work because you are not well.
My uncle is off work with a bad back.
3. Get down to work = start working
I need to get down to work.
4. Get back to work = Start working after a period away.
She went back to work when her baby was a year old.
