Summer here, winter in NZ
speaking about the Weather...At the moment, it's winter in New Zealand (Nieuw-Zeeland), because the country is located in the southern hemisphere (zuiderlijk halfrond). This is because of the difference in distance to the sun in the month of June and July . The sun is located closer to the Northern hemisphere during these months. The Southern hemisphere receives (ontvangt) less sunlight so that's why it gets darker earlier in the evening and that's why it's a bit colder. New Zealand school children also celebrate the summer holiday in January and February. Let's learn more about New Zealand! Pay attention because the video will stop from time to time!
