American Summer Camps

American summer camps are a tradition that dates back to the 1800s and are known for their diverse range of activities and experiences.

Introduce American summer camps and highlight their diverse range of activities and experiences. Encourage students to share their own experiences if they have any.

British Summer Camps

British summer camps are often centered around specific themes, such as sports or the arts, and are known for their focus on personal growth and development.

Introduce British summer camps and highlight their focus on personal growth and development. Encourage students to share their own experiences if they have any.

In groups:

• Form groups of 4-5 students 
• Pick an American or British summer camp you would like to go to
• Using the internet and other resources, research your  summer camp and gather information and images to present to the class.
• Using the information and images gathered, create a creative presentation to share with the class, such as a poster, video, or slideshow.
• Each group will present their creative presentation to the class and answer any questions from their peers. Try to sell it!

Give clear instructions on how to form groups and assign each group a specific aspect of summer camps culture to explore, such as food, activities, or traditions.

Reflection

Reflect on your group's presentation and what you learned about summer camps culture in America and England.

Give students time to reflect on their group's presentation and what they learned about summer camps culture in America and England. Encourage them to share their reflections with the class.
