BANDS - REVIEWS WANTED

We’re looking for reviews of new bands and artists. In your review you should comment on the members of the band/artist, the kind of music the band/artist plays and where they/he/she play(s). Would you recommend the band/artist to people your age?

The best reviews will be published in next month’s magazine.

Paragraph 1: MEMBERS: Reason 1  + specific example.

Paragraph 2: KIND OF MUSIC: Reason 2 + specific example.

Paragraph 3: WHERE PLAYS: Reason 3 + specific example.

 

Paragraph 1

Paragraph 1: MEMBERS: The members are really cute + Barry has nice hair.

A) Start with linking word. 

B) Introduce topic of BAND MEMBERS

C) Give your opinion (really cute!)

D) Give one example (Barry's hair)

Write the first half of Paragraph 1, in which you A) start with a nice opening linking word. B) introduce the topic of the BAND MEMBERS.

Write it as a text! Leave out A) and B)

Other good linking words to start off with

First of all, 

The first great thing about this band is that ... 

Firstly, 

In the first place,

Write the second half of Paragraph 1, in which you C) give your opinion (really cute), and D) give one example (Barry's hair).

So now, paragraph 1 should look something like this:

The first great thing about [[band name]] is of course its members. Each of the four members is adorable! Especially Barry, who has amazing hair. 

Adjectives

Your text should be full of adjectives. 

Grading sheet says: 

"Special attention to adjectives, adverbs, language of description (+1pt if all sentences contain a good descriptive words)"

Paragraph 2

Paragraph 2: KIND OF MUSIC: reason 1 + example.

A) Start with linking word.

B) Introduce topic of KIND OF MUSIC

C) Give your opinion (great hard-rock music)

D) Give one example (guitar is good) 

A) linking word + B) topic 2 (KIND OF MUSIC).

Write up Paragraph 2 in total. A) Start with linking word. B) Introduce topic of KIND OF MUSIC. C) Give your opinion. D) Give one example.

We'll skip paragraph 3. 

By now you know that each of the body paragraphs needs 4 things:

A. linking word

B. topic

C. opinion

D. example

Also, remember to use lots of descriptive language (adjectives, etc.)

RESTAURANT REVIEW

Your school magazine has commissioned you to write a review of one of the places students go to eat near your school. Write a review of such a place in the neighborhood.

Comment on its food, its staff (workers) and prices and finally give a recommendation.
