Have learned a few more words for food.

Know whether a noun is countable or uncountable.

Know when to use a / an  / some / any

table activity:

1. You will get post-its. On each post-it, write the name of a food. Write clearly! Each post-it has to have a different food (obviously!).
2. You will exchange post-its with another table.
3. Stick the post-its on a sheet of paper. Decide whether you would use a / an / some / any. Use the grammar reference on p 102 SB to check when you use these.

Can you explain when we use a / an / some / any?

a: singular countable nouns

an: singular countable nouns starting with a vowel.

some: plural countable nouns (affirmative)

uncountable nouns 

any:  negative sentences and questions (for both plural countable nouns AND uncountable nouns)
