Unfortunately, I can't come to school today. Use the content of this lesson to work on several activities. Create a document for today and work on the activities. We will look at your work on Thursday. Have fun without me.

I belief there's too much work for just this double period, make sure to have finished at least the activity about 'categorizing the plays'.
The other slides are just extra work you can try. This is not mandatory.

Activity

Do some background research on life in the late 16th century:
What were the living conditions like/ education wealth/poverty/ theater/ other writers (contemporaries of Shakespeare).
Spend about 10 more minutes on this, as we already looked at this in the previous lesson.

This is perhaps Shakespeare's most famous Sonnet.

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day
Thou art more lovely and more temperate."

Tragedy, Comedy, History or...
Let's have a look at the following activity.
Work through questions 1&2.
For 1, make a table and link the term to the definition.
For 2, Make a table with in the first column the title of the play and in the second column the category:
tragedy, comedy, history or problem play.
Do not research this but try to guess first based on title. When this is done, go online and try to find a category for each of the plays.
