Possessives (Bezittelijke voornaamwoorden)

A possessive pronoun is a word that indicates a relationship between a noun and a person, animal or entity (instantie).

That is my bag.

When something belongs to you, you use:

My (mijn) (this is my bag)

Your (jouw)

His/Her/Its (zijn/haar/het)

Our (onze)

Your (jouw)

Their (hun)

But you can also use them independently in English: without a noun (zelfs.ww) behind them comes.

Mine (van mij) (The bag is mine)

Yours (van jou)

His/Hers (van hem/van haar)

Ours (van ons)

Yours (van jullie)
