2. Make a list of non-European nations in the world where they speak a European language (and which language)
3. Choose one of these countries: Belgium, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands,  Portugal, Spain, USA: which colonies did they have and what did they get out them (f.e. cotton, diamonds, spices)
