You are about to learn all about 'conditionals'.

You will learn how and when to use the 'conditionals'.

Conditionals

If!

1st: 

If I study hard, I will pass the test.

If it rains, I won't go to the park.

2nd: 

If I studied hard, I would pass the test.

If I won the lottery, I would buy a big house. 

First conditional - likely to happen

first conditional

If it rains tonight,

1. I don't go out
2. I will not go out
3. I wouldn't have gone out
4. I would go out

If Tim studies hard,

1. He would have passed his exam
2. He will pass his exam
3. He passes him exam
4. He would pass his exam

If there is an earthquake,

1. Buildings will collapse
2. Buildings collapse
3. Buildings would collapse
4. Buildings would have collapsed

......, we will miss our flight.

1. If you will be late

...., your mom won't buy you a present.

1. If you failed your exam

Ok, so that was the first conditional. You are now going to get the second conditional. To introduce the second conditonal watch the video, but first look up the word 'omnipotent'

Second conditional - Unlikely to happen

An impossible or imaginary situation

If + past simple, would + hele werkwoord

If it rained, it wouldn't be so bad to stay inside. 

(It is sunny now, so imaginary situation) 

If you stopped smoking, you ______ a lot better pretty quickly.
