Slide 3 - Quiz

Student question
Timmy has a 3D cuboid with the width being 30 cm, height being 20cm and length being 60cm.
Jenny, Timmy's friend has a very big bucket which can hold 10L. Timmy wants to use Jenny’s
bucket to fill his 3D cuboid with water.

a) How many times does Timmy need to fill the bucket with water to fill the cuboid until the
brim?

b) If timmy had two more cuboids of the exact same size as the first one, how many ml would he need be so he can fill all 3 of the cuboids?

Slide 4 - Diapositive

Student question
a) How many times does Timmy need to fill the bucket (10 L) with water to fill the cuboid until the brim?

Slide 5 - Diapositive

Student question
a) How many times does Timmy need to fill the bucket (10 L) with water to fill the cuboid until the brim?
V = 20 x 30 x 60 = 36000 cm3
Capacity = 36000 ml = 36 L
1 bucket holds 10 L so he will need 4 buckets to fill the whole cuboid

Student question
a) b) If timmy had two more cuboids of the exact same size as the first one, how many ml would he need be so he can fill all 3 of the cuboids?

Slide 7 - Diapositive

Student question
a) b) If timmy had two more cuboids of the exact same size as the first one, how many ml would he need be so he can fill all 3 of the cuboids?
V = 20 x 30 x 60 = 36000 cm3
Volume of all 3 cuboids = 3 x 36000 = 108000 cm3
Capacity = 108000 ml = 108 L
He would need 108000 ml
(or 11 buckets)

A 10 meter long water trough has a triangular cross-section. Before it is filled with water, it weighs 4 kg.
How much does it weigh after it is completely filled with (pure) water?
Measurements in dm

Slide 9 - Question ouverte

Individual revision
1. Complete the reflection form on Volume, capacity and mass

2. Work on the workpackets:
- Lengt, perimeter and area
- Volume, capacity and mass

You can borrow an answer key from my desk!

Investigation discussion
Take 10 minutes to look through all the feedback in your investigation and complete a reflection form. Do not ask me any questions

After 10 min I will go through the investigation and how I marked both on criteria B and C
