Did you know ... ?

Central Park in New York is the most famous park in the world. You’ve probably seen it on TV. It measures almost 500 football fields! It has a zoo and a museum. Many New Yorkers go to the park to relax, walk, jog, cycle or play sports. In the winter you can even skate there. What would you like to do in Central Park?

Did you know ...?

In 1625 the Dutch built a fort on the coast of America: Fort Amsterdam. In 1653 it became a city: New Amsterdam. That lasted only a short time: in 1664 it became New York, when the English occupied it after a war. You can still find Dutch names and words in New York: Harlem, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bleecker Street, Wall Street, Yonkers, etc. Can you recognise them?
