Before we move on, let's have a look at the slightly updated version of the rubric so that you are all ware of

USEFUL PHRASES & EXPRESSIONS

GOAL: to broaden your vocab knowledge and keep you from repeating yourself and what your partner says

also keep working on the topics of your Speaking exam, anticipate what you can expect by thinking about the topics

Let's see whether you remember all the different phrases that can be  used. 

Remember I do not want to see:

Discussion

1. I will choose one of the 8 topics available

2. Timer will be on the beamer

3. Part 1 - spider diagram 4 minutes

4. Part 2 - general questions related to topic - 6 minutes

5. Use the language that we practised - you will be marked on it

what are the most important things
you need to know about
the PP and presentation?

Presentation

1. Your presentation is 6-7 minutes at most and is shared via Classroom

2. You use a PP with interesting visuals 

3. You just have keywords on your PP

4. start with an anecdote or some background to introduce your topic

5. Make sure there is a good build-up: intro, middle part and conclusion with your own opinion

6. make sure that key words are pronounced properly

6. Your presentation is not facts only, you will be marked down

7. Practise your presentation, think of linking words!

*In pairs (SE pairs in Meet)

*Part 1 - 4 minutes, time it!

*Part 2 - 6 minutes, time it!

*Discuss what went well and what needs some more work

* Pay special attention to the phrases that you used

Time given for this depends on available time.

In pairs 

Give each other a tip and a top on your presentation topic/structure and 1 slide from your ppt

Finished? Start/continue working on presentation and ppt

If so please raise your hand and open your microphone

Person 1 starts the discussion. 

Person 2 responds using the first useful phrase (I'm sure that's what it is, I agree), followed by a logical next response.

Person 1 then responds using the second useful phrase, followed by a logical response.

When wanting to move to a next topic, use the phrases from 'moving to another written prompt' in a similar fashion.
